Our #WheresWilly team encountered a lot of downed trees in Ontario’s cottage country last week during our first set of annual dam inspections. Most of it wasa likely remnants from the March ice store. It is a good reminder for dam owners to inspect their grounds every spring, clear timbers from the forebays, and repair damage to the booms and fencing.
Tip of the week: Dam inspections are made a lot easier when owners maintain a 5′ buffer between vegetation and structures.
